STAFF & COMMITTEE
St Michael’s is a community based playgroup with charitable status. It is run by the staff and a parents committee. Every parent is eligible to become a member of the committee and we appreciate any help or participation. We need new committee members every term. The committee meets once a term. If you would like to find out more about becoming a committee member, please speak to a member of staff. We also hold a file in playgroup telling you all about the role which you are more than welcome to look at.

Mrs Sharon Jackson, Playgroup Manager
Hi, my name is Sharon. I joined St Michael’s Playgroup in 2004 as a playgroup assistant and then became Deputy in 2007 and finally becoming Manager in April 2013. I live in St Albans with my four children. I have been a school governor at a local school in St Albans but after 7 years and my children moving on have now resigned from this post. This has given me a good insight into the workings of a school and the Education system. I enjoy spending time with my family and like to read in my spare time.
Qualifications include : NVQ Level 3/4 in child care and early years, Safeguarding designated person, Special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), Level 2 Food Hygiene, and First Aid.

In 2010 I completed my NVQ level 3 in Children’s care, Learning and Development and in April 2013 I became Deputy Manager. I am married with three school aged children who keep me very busy. We have lived in St Albans since 2003, when I took a career break from the Civil Service and I enjoyed working at St Michael’s so much that I never went back! In my spare time I am an assistant Brownie leader and I enjoy playing the piano and walking my dog in Batch Wood.
